We are proud to be working in partnership with Topland Group (www.topland.co.uk) to acquire Beneficial Building in the centre of Birmingham, which will be developed into a best-in-class Build to Rent property. The building, which has been derelict for 13 years, has been renamed Paradise View (www.paradiseview.co.uk) and given a new lease of life as a much-needed rental accommodation in a prime location in the city centre.
Verv-Life (www.verv-life.com) have been appointed as property managers.
Completed in February 2024, Paradise View now provides 159 apartments together with 4,000 sq. ft. of ancillary amenity space together with a roof terrace. A 4,000 sq. ft. retail unit has been pre let and the basement provides a 4,500 sq. ft. gym pre let to Anytime Fitness.
The proposed re-development of this 1970’s office building is again in partnership with the Topland Group.
The site is within 10 mins walk of Cardiff University Union and our current plans are for a 585 bed Purpose Built Student Accommodation scheme in three adjoining blocks of accommodation, with three commercial units on the ground floor.
A full planning application has now been submitted and can be found here 23/01174/FUL | Erection of building (up to 25 storeys) for mixed use purposes, including commercial space (Use Classes A1, A2, A3, B1 and/or D1) (part ground floor) and residential accommodation for students comprised in a combination of cluster flats and studios (Sui Generis) with associated accommodation and works following demolition of existing buildings. | Friary House Greyfriars Road Cathays Cardiff CF10 3AE (cardiffidoxcloud.wales)
Subject to Planning we hope to be in a position to commence on site in summer 2024.
Working in partnership with iconic Bristol retailer Mickleburgh (www.mickleburgh.co.uk) a full planning application has been submitted. The full application can be found here 23/00879/F | Demolition of existing building and redevelopment for mixed uses (sui generis) to include a music hub (incorporating multi-functional floorspace for retailing, teaching, practice, performances and events) and purpose-built student accommodation (approx. 175 studios), with associated amenity/social spaces, cycle parking and supporting infrastructure | 1 - 9 Stokes Croft Bristol BS1 3PL
The plans involve the provision of a new expanded modern fit for purpose retail unit for Mickleburgh with c.126 PBSA studio units above. We hope to be able to deliver it for the start of the 2026 academic year.
